Queen Elizabeth II - Commander in Chief of the Australian Defence Force
Brigadier
Thomson, MC (Ret) - Patron of the 4th Battalion was the first Commanding
Officer.

Officer Class One Brennan was the first RSM of 4 RAR when the unit was formed in
1964 at Woodside.

11 April 1965, the Governor General ? Viscount De L?Isle VC ? presented Queen?s
and Regimental Colours to the Battalion at a ceremonial parade in Adelaide.
The Original
4 RAR Colours presented at this parade will be displayed in the 4 RAR Museum at Holsworthy in 2006.
